The Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Forest is a magical place often called the Amazon of South Florida because of its abundance of wildlife and flora. It is truly about the most beautiful road in our area. We’ll visit the “Fakahatchee Hilton” with its gator pond and then ride out to the border with the Picayune.
This is a good ride for beginner gravelers and mountain bikes are perfect. Just be able to ride for 30 miles and up to three hours and bring enough fluids for that amount of time.
Lunch will be at one of the fabulous seafood restaurants in Everglades City at your own expense.
This is always an amazing ride and if you’ve never done this one, don’t miss it.
We'll meet at the entrance Ranger Station at 8:00am and roll shortly after.
Restrooms available at the parking lot Ranger Station, but no facilities during the rest of the ride.
