Minions PLUS
Minions Plus rides every Wednesday. This ride is 22-25 miles of mainly shared use paths and bike lanes at a 14-16 MPH pace and designed as a step up from the Monday Minions ride. Education on riding etiquette and safety are still the focus. Drafting may be taught and practiced along with an opportunity to practice paceline skills. We roll at 6:30 pm from Ft Myers Cyclery, 3630 Cleveland Avenue. Come early to get acquainted and hear pre-ride instruction and safety briefings. This is a no drop ride meaning the group will stop together for flat tires or other mechanical issues, but a minimal ability to ride at a 14-16 mph pace for 1.5 hours is expected. There is one rest stop on this ride at about 10 miles.
Helmet, working bike and both front and rear lights are required. Please carry 2 water/sport drink bottles on your bike and a spare tube. While any type of bike can be used, bikes with drop bars and smooth tires are more efficient.
This ride and Monday Minions ride are great for first rides with the club. If the pavement is dry, we flyl!!!
