At the June 16
th general membership meeting the Board of Directors unanimously voted to honor
Oscar Rattenborg with
Lifetime Membership for all his past, current and future contributions to the Club. Oscar is one who is always willing and able to volunteer to lead group rides (Monday Minions and Wednesday’s Minions + to mention a couple.) Ask Oscar to help set-up or cleanup for an event and he asks, “when and where” – always a “yes”. Also, has anyone ever seen Oscar without a smile on his face??? Here is to the man, the myth, the legend and this honor is so richly deserved. Thank you, Oscar, for all you do!!!

Oscar is one of those invaluable members that the CRBC has relied on for many years. Always available, almost 24/7, to lead a ride or pace group, to coordinate or marshal an event, to help out with bike rodeos or anything to do with cycling education, to mark routes for the Club and other related events, to serving on the CRBC Board, to fix a bike to keep it rolling during a ride, and who knows how many flats he has changed for others! He's educated so many newer members on the proper etiquette for Group Riding during countless Minions Rides and has inspired many to move up to faster paced groups. (Steve Rodgers)
Oscar is a hero to me and a friend. With his help and support I've seen many riders rise up the ranks from 'casual rider' to a complete lifestyle change. I'm one of those people that he helped 'bring up' by NOT being hyper competitive but helpful and kind. He's the front line when it comes to teaching ride safety and how to support the group you are with. (Jon Freeman)
