Hope Hospice Rainbow Trails Camp
Hope Healthcare has offered an overnight camp for grieving children here in our community for almost four decades. The camp provides an opportunity for children, ages 5-18, to be with other peers also grieving similar losses of a parent, grandparent, or sibling, with the following camp goals:
1. reduce feelings of isolation
2. share their story without judgement in a safe environment
3. develop tools for coping by participating in the various bereavement, art, and music therapy activities
4. enjoy outdoor recreation at the beautiful campground in Lake Placid, including lake swimming, rock climbing, slip-n-slide, drumming by the bonfire on the beach, equestrian therapy, and so much more!
It is truly a therapeutic weekend for these children, along with loving care, safety, and support from Hope staff and volunteers! The camp is free of cost with help from our gracious donors and from wonderful community groups like yours!
