Join ride leader long distance Larry Grabiak for a 121.5 mile ride around Lake Okeechobee. Start time is 6:30AM SHARP! Start/End location is the Walmart Super Center parking lot located at 1005 W Sugarland Hwy, Clewiston, FL 33440-near the Mobil Gas/Food Mart. The pace is 15-16 mph. If you want to go faster-go faster. This is a no drop ride for the organized group.
Planned stops: Love's Travel Stop-mile 20ish, Circle K-mile 36ish, Mobil Gas/Food-mile 57ish, Stop and Shop-mile 90ish, John Stretch Park-restrooms only-mile 110.
NOTE: There are no other planned stops. On the levee there is no food or water. The longest distance between stops is about 33 miles. Please plan accordingly. That said, if one rider stops anywhere on the route, for whatever reason, WE ALL STOP!
All safety protocols apply. No blinking headlights/taillights until after sunrise (about 7:00AM). No blinking taillights above the height of the saddle.
There is one construction area (at the time of this posting). The intersection of Rt. 27 and Rt. 78 and it is NEGOTIABLE.
Maximum gravel is between 3-4 miles.
Inclement weather call will be made no later than 9:00PM on Saturday, December 6th.
FYI: Lake Okeechobee has its own weather system. Tailwinds-hope so and headwinds-ABSOLUTELY!

The start location is about 1.5 hours from Fort Myers.
