Sunday

Welcome Ride - Fort Myers

The Sunday Welcome Ride starts in the parking lot at the TREK Bicycle Store in Ft. Myers (8291 Dani Drive, SE corner of Colonial and Six Mile Cypress) at 7:30am.

We welcome just about any type of bicycle - comfort, hybrid, fitness, mountain, road, etc - but the rider should be able to maintain our pace of 13 to 15 mph for an hour and a half. We ride mostly on the path system surrounding the store and vary the route each week - sometimes to Lakes Park, John Yarbrough Linear Park, Gateway, old Airport, Red Sox stadium - and the distances will range from 18 to 25 miles. On the first Sunday of each month we will ride to Page Field and attend the Experimental Aircraft Association's Pancake Breakfast ($6 each) - always a great time!  After other rides, we'll gather at Dunkin Donuts or head to First Watch for coffee, etc. The rides are considered "no drop", so we'll make sure you get back to the shop!

Helmets are required!  Contact Steve Rodgers at 239-931-6690 (TREK) or email at srodgers@trekbikesflorida.com for more info and watch for postings and weather updates on Face Book at CRBC Ride Group

Country Loop - Fort Myers

Sunday 50 mile "Country Loop" group ride. Leaves at 7:30 a.m. from Buckingham Park. You MUST be able to maintain the pace. Your average speed when finished will be between 21 and 24mph for the entire ride. The rest stop is at approximately 30 miles into the ride, at the 7-11 on Joel Blvd. Contact Pam Allen 239-995-4222. Visit the interactive map.

Monday

Monday Minions - Fort Myers

The Minions ride leaves from Ft Myers Cyclery at 3630 Cleveland Av, Ft Myers (formerly Ft Myers Schwinn), at 6 pm every Monday.  We average 12-13 mph for 15 miles along city streets and the Winkler Canal Multi use path. This is a No Drop ride with a couple of safe places for people to test their fitness by rolling out. Think of this ride as a bridge between Critical Mass and our well established weekly rides. Working bikes, helmets, front and rear lights and a sense of fun required. We normally gather for dinner afterwards. Contact Mike or Diane Holm at FM Schwinn, 239-939-2899 or Oscar Rattenborg at 239-220-9052

Pace is 16 to 18 mph and we ride in the bike lanes on Treeline/Gateway - through the old airport - then finish on the bike paths along Daniels and Six Mile Cypress.  Helmets and LIGHTS, front and rear, are ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED - we do finish after dark!  Watch for posts and weather updates on FB in "CRBC Ride Group" and "SWFL Critical Mass".  Need info?  Contact Steve Rodgers at the TREK store: 239-931-6690

Wednesday

Pink Ride - Fort Myers

During the summer months while we wait for the return of our northern CRBC riding friends, let's all enjoy a Wednesday group ride.  Come join the morning "PINK" group ride starting from Buckingham Park at 7:30a.m. to the Alva convenience store on HWY 80. This is a drop ride at 19+mph for 39 miles. Contact Pam Allen 239-995-4222. Visit the interactive map.

Panera - Fort Myers

Two groups roll out from the intersection of Colonial and Treeline Roads headed to the Panera in the Coconut Point Mall on Wednesday mornings. The first group rolls out at 8 am from the Winn-Dixie on the west side of Treeline for a 21-23 mph pace ride. Contact Russell Roberts for more information. The second group rolls out an hour later, 9 am, from the Coastline Cyclery parking lot on the east side of Treeline and has an 19-21 mph pace. Contact Mike Dwyer at 705-323-3541 for more information.

Minions Plus - Fort Myers
The Minions Plus ride is the evolution of the weekly Monday Minions ride.  The Minions Plus ride is longer, faster and develops skills to the next level.  We will ride protected bike ways and some roadways with shoulders for 17-20 miles at a pace of 14-16 mph.  The paceline will be tighter and corners rolled at speed.  We will learn how to evaluate riding conditions on the fly and how to effectively communicate within a tight group.  We will even learn how to eat and drink (WATER) while riding.  While this is a NO DROP ride, it is expected that riders can maintain a minimum of 14 mph pace for the duration of the ride.

The Minions Plus ride will roll at 6:15 PM on the first and third Wednesday of each month.  Meet at the Ft Myers Cyclery at 3630 Cleveland Av, Ft Myers (formerly Ft Myers Schwinn). Equipment required: Helmets, water bottles, strong front and rear lights and a desire to learn and have fun.  Road bikes are recommended since this is a longer and faster ride. For information, contact: Oscar Rattenborg (239-220-9052,) Diane Holm (239-841-3407,) or Mike Holm 239-939-2899.
