Sunday

Welcome Ride - Fort Myers

The Welcome Ride starts most Sundays at 7:30am from the parking lot in front of the TREK store at 8291 Dani Drive (SE corner of Six Mile Cypress and Colonial Blvd).

We’ll usually plan a “no drop” route of 15-18-20 or 25 miles at a conversational pace of 13 to 15 mph.  We’ll stay on the paths as much as we can for these basic routes. Routes will vary from week to week as we sometimes head to Lakes Park, Gateway, JetBlue Park, or loop through the old airport. These basic loops are open to all experience levels and all types of bikes from hybrids to fitness and road bikes.

Lately, we have been adding a “ride within the ride” for our faster, more seasoned riders, which allows them to pick up the pace and go for an additional distance beyond the basic loop.  Typical pace increase is to 18 to 20 mph, and their routes may be 25, 30, or 35 miles in total. Pace line etiquette/riding style will be practiced as we ride on the bike lanes and paved shoulders, like those found in the Treeline Corridor.

Contact Steve Rodgers at the TREK store, 239-931-6690, or at Srodgers@trekbikestoreusa.com for more information or up-to-the-minute ride details.
